I sometimes gift people small items, and I don’t like to use plastic, so I need to use another medium. I like to make this really easy paper box. I’ve put homemade candies (usually I do line the bottom with wax paper if the candy is messy) I also put macarons, money and gift cards, or other small items in these boxes. They only take a few minutes to make and they add a personal touch to small presents.

What you need to make a paper box

6″ square of cardstock paper (bottom of the box)

5 1/8″ square of cardstock paper (top of box)

glue

scissors

embossing tool (optional)

Getting started

First start with your 6″ square, emboss 1 1/2″ away from each edge. If you don’t have an embosser, you can just fold, make sure to keep your edges super straight and super crisp.

Cut along the yellow lines shown below:

Fold up along your embossed lines. Make sure the square tabs are on the inside of your square. Put glue on the outside of the tabs and press the paper together. Let dry.

Repeat the same thing with your 5 1/8″ square, except emboss 1″ away from each edge. This is the lid of the box.
