As the days are getting colder, I realized my baby doesn’t have any warm hats that fit! I set out to make a soft winter hat that my baby would love to wear. I chose some super soft, fluffy yarn in a gorgeous gray color that will match with all my baby’s outfits! This winter hat is warm because I used thick, soft yarn. The tassels are also long enough to tie around my baby’s head to keep it from falling off while we walk.

Tassels
In the middle of each ear flap, first pull your crochet hook through the middle stitch to attach the tassel. Second make an 18″ tail, and chain 20. Make sure to crochet with both strands of yarn so the tassels are thick. Next cut your yarn and pull the pieces through your last chain to create a knot in your tassel. Repeat on the other side
Pom
To make your pom, wrap the yarn around your fingers loosely about 20-30 times. Tie the yarn together in the middle, use a long piece of yarn. Pull it off your fingers and fluff the yarn up. If you want you can cut the loops to make a more traditional pom. With the two long strands of yarn tie the pom to your winter hat.
