My dog has to have a dog bed in every room in our house. Of course that starts to get expensive. I decided I would make him a cheap but comfy bed for him to nap in. This DIY dog bed can be made in less than an hour for about $8 if you use all new materials, or even less if you have these around your house (you probably do!)
Materials
- Pillow (Just use a regular bed pillow, I used an old one)
- Fleece Blanket (50″x60″ but you can use a larger blanket and cut it down)
- Matching thread
Dog Bed Tutorial
Start by laying out your blanket, fold the 60″ edge in by one foot, creating a pocket.
Now fold the blanket over so the pocket edge is the top and there are two other open edges.
Sew the non-pocket open edges closed. I did a 1.5″ seam allowance.
Turn the blanket/pillowcase right side out.
Slide your pillow in and tuck the pillow into one side of the pocket. This way it is much harder for the dog to pull off the pillow, but you can still easily take it off to wash/replace it.
Give to your dog so they can enjoy their DIY dog bed!
