I spent about $10 on this Halloween wreath. I bought all the parts at the dollar tree, they even sell the wreath forms at the dollar tree! The dollar tree is is full of cute seasonal items and they make great decorations. This wreath only took about an hour to make and some hot glue. It was easy to make.

Materials

  • Wreath form
  • 2-4 rolls of decorative mesh in 2 colors (I only used 2 rolls in mine (8 yds total), but it was a bit sparse, if you want a fuller one, you’ll need to double the mesh – I used purple and orange)
  • 2 packs of glitter pumpkins
  • Halloween “greenery”
  • 1 pack of witches hats
  • Hot glue gun

Halloween Wreath Tutorial

Start with your purple mesh. Wrap one end of the mesh around your wreath form and glue. Loosely weave the mesh through the wreath form wires. Pull one edge of the mesh more than the other to make the loopy look. Try to weave it evenly through the whole form so the color is spread. If you are using two rolls, make each roll go about halfway around the wreath. Don’t worry too much if the wreath still has empty spots. Once you’re happy with how the wreath looks take your hot glue and glue a few spots down so it doesn’t move as you continue.

Now use your orange mesh to do the same thing. Pull the mesh out nice and loose so it covers lots of the wreath. Again, glue the mesh down anywhere it is needed. You will want all the wire to be covered at this point.

Now you will glue all the pumpkins on. Focus on gluing them in spots where the mesh is touching the wire. Spread the pumpkins out semi evenly (if you make it completely even it starts to look a bit odd)

Now add the greenery. Add it anywhere that looks a bit sparse or like it could use a little extra. I noticed a few spots where the wire was showing so I covered them with the greenery. Next add the hats, do it the same way as before, except you might want to make sure the hats all point the same way so they aren’t hanging upside down. The hats I bought also were meant to be stuck in some foam and they had little skewers in them. I just broke those off.

You’re all done and you can hang up your Halloween wreath!
