Father’s day is coming up, and this card is great for every dog dad out there! It was pretty easy, though it did take some coaxing to get my dog to cooperate. After a few treats, he was quite willing to put up with a bit of paint though. He’s a bit squirmy, so the paw print certainly isn’t perfect, but it turned out ok.
Materials
planetary paper (enough to make a 5×7 card)
brightly colored paper to make two letter “D”s
Glue stick
silver sharpie
paint brush
white paint (make sure it is non toxic and washable)
scissors
Tutorial
Cut out your main paper into 5×7
Use your brightly colored paper to cut out two letter Ds. Cut them 1 5/8″ tall and about 1 inch wide. I used a pencil to draw the letter.
Next step is to get your dog to put their paw print on your paper. Decide where you want the paw print to be. It should be in the top middle of your paper. Paint your dogs paw with your paint, then press it into the paper. You might have to try this a few times, but be aware your dog may also have limited patience if you try too many times. Lots of treats work best.
Glue the letter Ds on each side of the paw prints
Use your sharpie to write “You’re out of this world” below the paw print.
